So much of how in tune and aware we feel in our body during active movement, depends on how well we prepare, physically and mentally beforehand; and so much of the efficiency of our recovery lies in our post climbing routine. This is especially the case as we get older and our bodies naturally stiffen up, we tend to injure more easily!
Â
In this practise, we’ll explore various movements to help prepare the body for climbing, as well as targeted passive stretches which are a helpful addition to any post climbing cool down. Movements and postures will be combined with simple breathing techniques to both activate and calm the mind.

Elly was born and grew up in New Zealand but moved to the UK, to Sheffield, 5 years ago, to feed her husband’s insatiable love of rock climbing. It’s through him that she began climbing herself and loves the contrast and complementary elements of these two practises. Elly has been teaching Yoga full time for 3 years, and shares Yoga as a practise for both empowerment and healing. She is currently training to become a Yoga Therapist.
