Please join us for a lively evening of inspiration on Wednesday, October 17th from 7pm as mountaineer Heather Geluk shares ‘signature moves’ to architect a life that connects a curious mind with a love for the outdoors to create and live a life of purpose and meaning. Through breathtaking photographs and stories of expeditions in the Himalayas, Andes, and Alps and work with not-for-profits in Nepal and Canada, Heather will take us on a journey to ‘yes’ to exploring, experiencing, creating and relating… leaving us inspired to take that first step.
The night will begin at 6:00PM, with Heather's presentation, followed by the screening of "In the Shadows of Everest". Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Heather’s zest for adventure and a life that regularly challenges “comfort zones,” reflects a love for the outdoors and an inherent sense of ‘wanderlust’. She uses her experiences as an adventurer and mountaineer as opportunities to inspire others and ‘give back’.
Heather’s more than familiar with what it takes. She’s not only scaled some of the highest mountains in the world including Everest, Lhotse and Denali, but she’s done so while using her passion for our environment, the mountains and its people to ‘give back’, fostering deeper connections and finding greater harmony in life. Through her recent expedition in Nepal, Heather added to an already inspiring life of adventure to become one of the first Canadian women to scale Kyajo Ri, high in the Everest region. She then went on to volunteer at the Khumbu Climbing Center, a center dedicated to increase the safety of Nepali climbers and high-altitude workers.
