MURAL & LUNAR NEW YEAR

*We believe in increasing diversity & inclusion in the outdoors and welcome all BIPOC women & girls (transgender and cisgender) as well as non-binary people who identify with the women’s community to this event. Must be 16 years or older to attend.*

Arc'teryx Seattle, Trail Mixed Collective, and Crystal Mountain Ski Resort has collaborated to co-sponsor an inclusive ski & snowboarding class instructed by our Crystal Mountain's BIWOC instructors. This class will be split into two groups, one pod of 5 students per instructor, based on snow sport. The intention is to provide a focused clinic that is covid friendly and allows for more 1:1 coaching time per student.

CLASS DESCRIPTION -

Whether you are new to the slopes or ready to expand your skills, our group lessons provide an engaging environment to learn more of the mountain together. For first-time skiers and riders, we utilize the custom-built snow features of our Terrain Based Learning program to provide an effective, movement-based learning experience that builds your confidence. OUR PARTNERS

David Doe

We are a community of climbing advocates who love our climbing landscapes and the experiences they offer—and we are willing and committed to fight for them. Not just for access, but for the integrity of these amazing places.

Founded in 1991, Access Fund represents millions of climbers nationwide in all forms of climbing: rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, and bouldering.

 Climbers of color

Climbers of Color is a Washington State non-profit (est. 2017) that aims to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the climbing and mountaineering community by developing leaders of color.

To accomplish its mission,

Climbers of Color provides supportive mentorship, technical training and access to key resources including gear and scholarships.

WASHINGTON CLIMBERS COALITON

Washington Climbers Coalition was founded in 2004 thanks to a small grant from Access Fund.

Our mission is to make Washington a better place to climb through advocacy, stewardship, and education. We work with climbers, land managers, and partner organizations to take care of climbing destinations and preserve public access.

We are a group of athletes who realized that quality chalk makes a big difference—whether you’re on the rock, swinging a kettlebell, or hitting the tennis courts, a better grip means better performance. And after rigorous testing with some of the best climbers and athletes in the world, we nailed the formula.

about

Trail mixed collective

Trail Mixed is a community oriented collective aimed at increasing representation of women of color in outdoor recreation and sports. We recognize that there are a multitude of barriers that prevent women of color from either entering or advancing in their outdoor pursuits including the costs of gear and education, lack of access to mentors, generational trauma, cultural exposure and norms, and the white dominated spaces that have historically defined the outdoors - to name a few.

We believe that through mentorship between women of color, storytelling, community events, educational courses, and access to scholarships, we can help break down barriers for women of color while intentionally building strong communities.

About

CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN

For many of us, the mountain has long been a refuge. In our busy, modern era we often feel chronically rushed, heavily trafficked and way too plugged in. Yet, when the storms hit or the peaks are out, our mountains become our church. Our spirits are lifted to a place of reverence and awe. We feel moments, we see the landscape and we truly experience the natural environment. We find community that shares the same perspective. We feel more like who we are and who we want to be.

With open space, expansive terrain and powerful views, Crystal is that place. Here the mountain towers in a paradise valley at the end of the road. Thriving community exists in our parking lot and in our ski bars. True Pacific Northwest shines through, even in the fog or in the clouds. We invite you to drop in, to hike, to ski, and feel that too.
