Meet the fina

Team EMS - Bobby Conner

Bobby is a Certified Flight Registered Nurse with twenty years of clinical experience. His number one passion is mountain biking, which he credits for his mental and physical health today.

Bobby co-founded Team EMS in 2015 to improve work-life balance & mental health for other first responders and medical professionals by way of trails. Team EMS introduces people to mountain biking, provides resilience education & outreach, breaks down barriers to the sport and encourages healthy competition amongst peers.

Team EMS operates broadly in the western United States, and has members from the Mississippi River to the California coast.

Rocky Talkies - Bryce Jones

Bryce is a dedicated rock climber from Denver with a passion for  product design and 3d printing. He and his childhood friend developed Rocky Talkies, rugged adventure radios, after repeatedly witnessing dangerous miscommunications while climbing.

The Rocky Talkie lightweight radio was designed for outdoor enthusiasts that want to push their limits while mitigating the risks within their control. The radios easily secure to backpacks & harnesses and include a backup leash for extreme terrain. With a shatterproof screen and four-day battery life, they are made to last.

The Rocky Talkie team believes there are plenty of risks in the wild and communication shouldn't be one of them.

Project Shift - Chris DeRemer

Chris' program is titled Project Shift which focuses on shifting the paradigm for marginalized students and their teachers in east Denver. Academic outcomes for students will be far greater when they are known and supported and when their teachers are known and supported.

Project Shift focuses on developing networks of academic and social-emotional support for both students and teachers in order for both groups to be their best everyday.

Prize money will be spent on supporting an after-school tutoring program at Manual, refining the school's current restorative practices program by training three students to be restorative champions and supporting teachers at Manual connect to one another in order to feel truly supported by their colleagues.

By supporting these three programs both students and teachers will feel more supported, connected and empowered to be their best on a daily basis.
