Ski Resort: Sugar Bowl

Pickup/Dropoff Location: Arc'teryx Santana Row

Arc'teryx is sponsoring a Tahoe Day Trip in partnership with Sugar Bowl Ski Resort on Sunday, February 9, 2025! We know it's not easy to get to Tahoe from the Bay Area without a car (or all-wheel drive). That's why Arc'teryx is partnering with Tahoe Ski Trips to take a bus to the resort, subsidizing the cost of transportation and lift ticket.

This event is part of our Prep Series for Arc'teryx Backcountry Academy in Mammoth, CA (March 7-9, 2025). 

EACH TAHOE DAY TRIP TICKET INCLUDES: 

- Lift Ticket

- Bus Ride

- Food Voucher

- Equipment Rentals* (if required)

- Beginners' Ski Lesson (if interested)

*Goggles not included in equipment rentals. We recommend sunglasses or purchasing your own goggles ahead of time or at the resort day of. 

PICKUP - 4:30AM PST - ARC'TERYX SANTANA ROW (356 Santana Row #1001, San Jose, CA 95128)

We will meet outside the Arc'teryx Santana Row store at 4:15am, where the bus will pick up from.

If you have questions about where to park, please call the store at (408) 642-1611.

There will be water and light snacks on the bus ride up and back. No coffee will be provided (we recommend trying to get some sleep on the way up, otherwise feel free to bring your own coffee). There is a restroom on the bus. The bus will not stop on the way up or back. 

DROPOFF 

The resort is open until 4pm. Please start heading to the bus then, as we aim to depart at 4:30pm. We ask you to please be patient with your fellow guests as everyone heads back to the bus and we make sure everyone is accounted for. 

The bus will arrive back at Arc'teryx Santana Row around 9pm (depending on traffic).

ON THE MOUNTAIN

Once the bus arrives, Arc'teryx and Sugar Bowl will hand everyone their lift ticket and food voucher. For those renting equipment and/or taking lessons, Arc'teryx and Sugar Bowl will lead you to where you need to go. 

Arc'teryx is invested in building community and increasing access to the sports that we design our gear for. That's why we've booked full-day beginner's lessons for the group (ski and snowboard)! Please indicate in the sign-up page if you'd like to take a lesson! 

You'll be joined on the mountain by Arc'teryx Staff and Ambassadors. You're free to join Arc'teryx on the mountain, ski with your friends or do your own thing. 

PLEASE READ 

- Please arrive at Arc'teryx Santana Row no later than 4:15am. We want to honor everyone's time and get to the mountain with as much time to ski as possible. 

- If you're name is not on the guest list, you will not be admitted onto the bus. Please do not try to bring friends who have not purchased a ticket. 

- Sugar Bowl anticipates this weekend being extremely busy with folks visiting Tahoe to ski. Please take this into consideration if the bus runs into traffic. 

- The resort is open until 4pm. Please start heading to the bus then, as we aim to depart at 4:30pm. We ask you to please be patient with your fellow guests as everyone heads back to the bus and we make sure everyone is accounted for. 

- Arc'teryx, Sugar Bowl and Tahoe Ski Trips will monitor weather forecasts, particularly for road closures and safe driving conditions. If inclement weather is in the weekend forecast, the 3 groups will collectively decide on the Wednesday before whether to postpone the trip or not. 

- If inclement weather causes the trip to be postponed, we will reschedule for Sunday, February 23, 2025.

ACCEPTING GRANTS - HOW TO APPLY 

Arc'teryx is invested in building up local communities and increasing access to the sports that we design our gear for. We're aware of the high cost barrier to enter the sport of skiing, which is why we're offering grants to three community members to cover the cost of their Tahoe Day Trip. Here's how to apply: 

- Email Arc'teryx Santana Row (shop.santanarow@arcteryx.com) using the subject line, "Tahoe Day Trip - Grant Application"

- In the email, please share your name, your outdoor sports journey (ex: "this is my first time skiing") and how a grant would benefit you 

The Santana Row store and Arc'teryx Ambassadors will review each application and reach out to nominees to confirm their attendance by Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
