Arc’teryx Artist Series launches a limited collection created by Shaun Crawford.
Shaun Crawford is a graffiti artist, ink-maker and artist from Harlem, who maintains his childhood obsession with writing on anything and everything. He perfected the art of customization with luxury brand Maison Goyard, and started tie-dying to reclaim his favorite pieces of clothing from ink stains. When he’s not designing custom carpets or collaborating on unique pieces with Better™ Gift Shop, he drops his own clothing collections, Crawford Sourcing, through Dover Street market.
Â
Arc’teryx Artist Series is an invitation to see possibility where others see dead ends. For radical intentions to generate wild reinterpretations. By centering artists and culture shapers, these localized experiments yield new ways of looking, limited edition offerings, and support for artist-chosen community initiatives.
Â
Provided with 51 Arc’teryx jackets, pants and shorts, Shaun Crawford turned to his intimate knowledge of dyes, adhesives and solvents, gleaned through making and selling his own paints and inks to augment the urban environment, to tie-dye or customize each piece.Â
Â
Partial proceeds from the offering will go to support the Brooklyn Community Bail Fund, an organization that pays for the release of presumptively innocent people from custody, so they aren’t doing time for being too poor to make bail.Â
“I’ve written graffiti since I was 11. I mix my own inks and paints. I push the boundaries. Any idea that comes to my head, I try. “ - Shaun Crawford 2020
