Join the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and Arc'teryx for a night of education, story telling, and information about how you can help to protect ocean ecosystems and the sharks that play such an important role in them.
Over $1000 in Arc'teryx gear will be given away in a raffle. Drinks will be served to those with a valid ID.
The headlining speaker for the night will be Megan Winton, a research scientist at the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
Megan grew up near the Florida coast, where she developed an early love for the ocean and a particular fascination with sharks. As a shark obsessed kid who grew into a shark obsessed adult, she has spent the past ten years researching elasmobranch (sharks, skates, and stingrays) populations on both coasts of the United States. Since 2015, she has been working with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries to improve scientific understand of Cape Cod’s emerging white shark population. In her talk, she will provide an overview of white shark research being conducted in Massachusetts and will discuss how the results are being used to inform conservation efforts and public safety practices.
