This event is a part of our Lessons from the Mountains series.

Ready to take your first steps on real rock? Join us for our Beginner friendly outdoor climb, a fun and supportive introduction to outdoor climbing! Whether you've climbed in a gym or never worn a harness, this event is designed to help you experience the thrill of climbing in nature-with expert guidance every step of the way!

Date: July 13th, 2025

 

Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm


Come join us for an outdoor climbing experience hosted by Jordan and Mikayla from VIBE Backcountry! The day starts at 10am with a beginner-friendly session where we’ll cover the basics of climbing etiquette, introduce key knots and harness safety, and walk through the gear—all of which will be provided, including climbing shoes. For more experienced climbers, you are invited to join the clinic at 11am!


The clinic is designed to focused on connection, skill-sharing, and gearing up for the season ahead. We’ll also explore the nuances of the climbing community to help newcomers feel at home on the wall. To make sure everyone feels comfortable VIBE Backcountry will be providing belayers!


 After the session, stick around for giveaways, and some awesome climbing swag.
This event is all about building stoke, forging community, and sharing the excitement for the climbs to come. Come for the climbs, stay for the people—see you out there!

Hailing from Australia, but having called BC home for 7 years, Mikayla’s love of the BC wilderness is evident in all her undertakings. She grew up with an eagerness for outdoor activities, honed through family adventures and school programs, then continued building on her skills as she moved into the professional world.
With 12 years of experience leading kayaking, hiking, and climbing tours, she has guided hundreds of people in exploring and connecting with nature. Mikayla’s approach combines technical skills with a passion for the natural world, making each outing as educational as it is exhilarating.
