July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month- observed each July to bring awareness to the unique struggles that racial and ethnic minority communities face regarding mental illness in the United States. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act, and helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
Studies have shown that being in nature can restore and strengthen our mental capacities, increasing focus and attention.
In awareness of BIPOC Mental Health Month, join Arc'teryx Washington DC for a Ride and Meditation with Prime Ability, a DC based organization committed to getting kids off the streets and onto bikes. The 8-mile loop will begin at the Arc'teryx Washington DC Downtown location and will be led by Alex Clark, founder of Prime Ability, and his team through the National Mall. We'll finish at Arc'teryx DC, where we'll have delicious breakfast ready from La Tejana, and host a group meditation- led by Yasmine Griffith- focused on healing for BIPOC minorities.
