Better Lead Belaying: Tune up your lead belaying skills and inspire confidence in yourself and those you climb with. We’ll cover methods for giving slack efficiently, dynamic belaying and soft catches, optimal positioning, and managing falls at any point on the wall. Previous lead belaying experience is required.Â
Like A Cat: Lead Falling Skills:Â Gain confidence in the belay system by learning how to take better falls. Through a series of exercises, you will be exposed to techniques that will improve your falling technique, and help you climb more confidently on lead. Previous lead climbing experience is required.
Anchor Cleaning Skills: Are you prepared to clean anchors at the end of a cragging session? Don’t know what anchor cleaning is? Whether you're new to anchor cleaning or just need to brush up on your skills, this clinic is for you! You will learn up-to-date methods for cleaning anchors while managing the risks that come with hanging high above the ground. This is a ground school session, so belay certification is not required.
Rappelling Techniques for Larger Groups:Â Getting down from long routes can be an efficiency nightmare. Learn some techniques to speed up the descent and gain security on multi-pitch rappels in groups of all sizes. This is a ground school session, so belay certification is not required.
Intro to Roped Climbing:Â Learn the skills for top rope climbing! This course covers the fundamentals of top rope climbing including wearing a harness, tying into the rope, belaying (securing the rope), and doing buddy checks. No experience required!
Â
Dynos:Â Explore one of the funnest styles of climbing movement - the dyno! We'll demystify coordination, practice generating explosive power, and try to get some air and latch some holds! Participants will learn the different movements and techniques for doing deadpoints, dynos and double dynos.
Footwork, Footwork, Footwork: Dig deep into how to use your feet, improve balance, and work with your center of gravity to reduce arm fatigue. A combination of training exercises and climbing will put your skills into practice. Belay certification is not required.
