Remaining centered isn’t just a main goal of pottery, it’s artist Gabrielle Burke’s objective in life. Driven to the arts at an early age to cope with life’s challenges; Gabrielle found peace in clay over 16 years ago. For her it’s about “enabling a safe space for people to creatively express themselves.” The constant transformation of clay - and ourselves - into something new. Through her explorations outdoors and in the studio, she delves into the unknown and the balance of push & pull. A sense of community brings it all together.
Devan is a Korean-Canadian adoptee who was born in South Korea, raised in Northern Alberta, and now lives in Vancouver. He’s always on the move and always capturing images along the way. When Devan first landed in Canada his folks took him on a month long camping trip through the BC interior - his love for the outdoors was born. And growing up in an avid ski family meant he was on the slopes at the age of two. As a creator Devan’s goal is to motivate people to get outside through his images by provoking curiosity in them.
An overnight trip to Garibaldi Lake in British Columbia changed Colin’s life forever. It didn’t matter that it rained, that his pack was over 40 pounds, or that he had the most uncomfortable sleep of his life. There was something about living in the outdoors that he couldn’t get enough of. Hundreds of trips later, Colin is now doing what he can to teach others how to experience the outdoors as he did. Colin aims to make the outdoors accessible to all people by innovating new meals outside and sharing his favourite local hikes. If you find him on the trail, go say hi and there’s a good chance he’ll feed you.
Andrea is the founder and owner of Balance In Motion and has two facilities in the Lower Mainland that offer individualized strength training and injury rehabilitation.
Andrea was introduced to the world of trail running in 2018, has been obsessed with mountains ever since, and currently competes in the 25-55km ultra distances. When not racing she can be found on the local Squamish trails, and depending on the season, also mountain running, skiing, mountaineering, rock climbing, and fastpacking.
Andrea is a co-founder of Stronger Strides, an online program providing education and guidance for strength training to help athletes achieve their full running potential. Stronger Strides was developed by Andrea and Devon Goldstein to help runners become strong and resilient athletes by enabling them to move efficiently and perform to the top of their abilities.
Devon is a strength coach who primarily works with elite endurance athletes ranging from the 1500m on the track to race-walking and ultra trail athletes. She has had numerous athletes attend the Olympics and World Championships and be competitive at the National level.
Her own athletic journey started with waterpolo, then weightlifting, before settling into trail and mountain running. She runs track and road in the winter to better understand the training her athletes undergo, but in the summer she spends as much time as she can in the alpine.
