CLIMB & CRAG CLEANUP

April 22nd

Come climb and tidy up the crag on Earth Day with the Lagartijas, Sender One and Arc'teryx La Brea crews at the classic climbing spot, Stoney Point. Participants of all experience levels are welcome. Raffle entries will be provided with proof of RSVP. No need to bring anything other than yourself and your climbing shoes.

LOCATION: 

Stoney Point Park

On Topanga Canyon Blvd, between Chatsworth St and CA-118
Chatsworth, CA 91311 United States

 

TIME: 

10AM - 1PM

 
MEET UP POINT: 

Meet at Boulder 1


ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

The climbing area is exposed to the sun, dress according to weather conditions. Refreshments will be available free of charge.

ROUTE FINDING & NAVIGATION COURSE

April 23rd

Accompany geologist & field scientist, Alexia Rojas, on a hike in Angeles National Forest to learn the fundamentals of reading a topographic map, using a compass and finding positioning to plan routes. Skills learned through this course can be applied to future adventures. No prior experience needed!

LOCATION:

Millard Campground

5072 Brown Mountain Truck Trail

Altadena, CA 91001  


TIME: 

9AM - 1PM

 
MEET UP POINT:

We will be meeting at the tables in Millard Campground, just a short walk into Brown Mountain Truck Trail. Park in the lot at the address listed above. The parking requires a California Adventure Pass (will be provided with proof of RSVP).


ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Light lunch (food and drink) will be provided after course completion by Recent Abstracts. Campground can be cold in the morning but parts of the hike will be exposed to the sun. Bring adequate layers and sun protection.
