This event is a part of our Lessons from the Mountains series.

Into to Traditional Climbing is for anyone wanting to learn techniques and safety used in the traditional climbing style.

 

-Introductions/ Leave No Trace

-Equipment needed for Lead Climbing: Ropes, Carabiners, Cams, Nuts, Cordelettes & Runners

-Review of Belaying, Spotting and Belaying Safety

-Climber Communication

-Anchors

Important notes

 

We will meet at the ARC'TERYX location on Pearl Street to coordinate carpools, if possible. Although the parking area at the crag is spacious, we aim to minimize our impact and leave room for others.


Our climbing and learning session will take place at the Elephant Buttress in Boulder Canyon. Please come prepared with ample food, water, and sun protection.


If you have personal climbing gear (such as a harness, helmet, or climbing shoes), please bring it along. *Helmets are required for this event and will not be provided.*

We will also have supplemental equipment available, including cams, ropes, cord, and slings.
