Playing in the mountains is a luxury that, for those of us lucky enough to get to experience it, has the potential to form some of the most memorable and profound experiences of our lives. It becomes a huge part of who we are, not just what we do.

Playing in the mountains is also an incredibly demanding endeavour, both physically and mentally. It is dynamic, it is athletic, it is challenging...and the environment we play in changes constantly.

Because of this, the nature of playing in the mountains means that we all walk a fine line between performance and injury each time we choose to go into them...to the extent that eventually, the odds are that we will all experience an injury of some kind at some point.

For this reason, it is crucial that we learn and understand the mechanism behind injury, how to facilitate recovery after experiencing injury to get back to our previous level of performance and, finally, how to be proactive in our preparation against experiencing injury in the first place.

Whilst we can never fully remove the potential of ever experiencing injury...we can certainly do a great deal towards minimising the potential of it occurring, or increasing our chances of a successful return to performance in the event that it does.

Combining knowledge and expertise from both sides of the recovery process, through the lens of Chiropractor/Kinesiologist: Paul Greenwood and Strength + Conditioning Coach: Chris Moffet, this presentation will strive to bridge the gap from manual therapy to the weight room to the mountains, to teach the Sea to Sky athlete how to negotiate this difficult world of returning from injury whilst working towards the performance they need to succeed in their goals this season.
