Hosted by: Judith Kasiama & Colour the Trails
The lack of diversity and representation in the outdoors can be discouraging and challenging for Black and Indigenous People of Colour. Colour the Trails is a local outdoor community that is aiming to change that. They provide opportunities for BIPoC individuals and allies to hike, ski, snowboard, snowshoe, and kayak in the Sea to Sky corridor.
This film screening will showcase 3 different short films featuring People of Colour, celebrate their achievements, and address some of the issues surrounding diversity and inclusion.

Founder of Colour of the Trails, and a MEC ambassador who advocates for mobility justice by highlighting the inequality and uneven accessibility that she faces as a Black woman in the outdoors. By doing so, she brings to light the lack of representation in the outdoors in Canada. Her goal is to showcase herself being active outside through various adventures. By doing so, she is creating content and sharing stories, so that people like herself can see themselves reflected in the Canadian outdoor narrative.
