INTERMISSION is an exhibition that centers on the career of Arc’teryx athlete, Cole Richardson (@colerichardson), whose life and athletic journey were dramatically interrupted by a life-threatening injury in Sapporo, Japan, in 2023. The exhibition, featuring the works of Marvin Leuvrey (@marvin.leuvrey), AF Webb (@alexfwebb), and Leo Hoorn (@leohoorn___), subverts traditional ski narratives, moving away from linear storytelling to embrace a more abstract and contemplative approach. Through a combination of image, sound, and film, the artists explore themes of mood, speed, affect, danger, and reflection. The selected works delve into the scientific stages of flow—agitation, release, flow, and recovery—capturing the multifaceted experience of a professional mountain athlete.
