Squamish is a special place, there are boundless ways to find love for the land this year Balancing Acts_ has partnered with Arc'teryx's Walk Gently & the Snichim Foundation to learn from Squamish Nation residents why the land is so special.

Who we are

This event is a part of our Lessons from the Mountains series.

What is Balancing Acts_?

Based in Vancouver, our mission is to provide access to opportunity. We provide equipment, transportation through our workshops and build community along the way. We care about visibility and inspiration, through our workshops and space we put an emphasis on supporting and uplifting 2SLGBTQA+ & Indigenous, Black, POC individuals.

Rock climbing is community first, sport second in our eyes, its the vehicle we use to bring people together.

welcome to all, 16+ ideally, under 16 please bring a chaperone.

What is Walk Gently & The Sníchim Foundation?
Walk Gently is Arc’teryx’s ongoing celebration of Indigenous design and creativity, led by Cole Sparrow-Crawford—Musqueam artist, designer, and founder of the platform. Rooted in thoughtful design and collaboration, Walk Gently invites people everywhere to reflect on their relationship with land, culture, and community.

The Sníchim Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Nation) through language support and cultural reclamation activities. Our language program is designed to train more fluent speakers who can facilitate language learning to address this need in our community. Our land-based and cultural-based programs are designed to energize Sḵwx̱wú7mesh community members about our lands, cultural practices, and language, helping individuals see themselves as part of a broader network of cultural revitalizationists.
