Avalanche Awareness Class at Washington Square

Join us as we welcome Brittany Han, our local representative from The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) as she offers a free avalanche presentation to the public. Whether you ski, snowshoe, snowboard, snowmobile, or hike, recognition of avalanche danger is an essential and potentially lifesaving skill.

Full event details

This 90-minute introductory presentation provides a basic approach to managing risk in an around avalanche terrain. Brittany will explain how to access avalanche and mountain weather forecasts and recognize basic signs of avalanche danger. We will learn more about what NWAC does for our Portland snow community and how we can join their mission.

Snacks and beverages will be offered to guests from 7:15p-7:55p (NA beverages from Best Day Brewing)

Presentation will run from 8p-9:30p
