Our fundamental connection to nature needs to be nurtured. Find inspiration with a series of curated films, hosted by VIMFF, that showcase deep adventures in nature.
Themes of the Snow Sports movies include: inclusivity in the outdoors, authentic enjoyment in the outdoors, the connection that is built through mutual parenthood, historic journeys, and the role that the chairlift has in bringing people together.
All proceeds will be donated to Protect Our Winters Canada, non-profit organization.

When celebrated professional skiers Lorraine Huber and Hedvig Wessel join forces to take on the Freeride World Tour, director Katie Burrell thinks this just might be a premise dreamt up in Girl-Boss heaven. The “Plan,” was to film Norway and Hoobs supporting each other through their complimentary transitions – one from athlete to coach, and the other from mogul skier to big mountain freerider. Proving women can have it all.
The three wisemen of freeskiing, Eric Hjorliefson, Mark Abma and Chris Rubens, take it to the home front and head to Mt Cain on Vancouver Island BC. Instead of five star hotels and high speed lifts, they sleep in the parking lot and shred a T-bar. It’s a throwback infrastructure and the passion is 100 percent authentic. There are no fur coats, five dollar lattes or anything fancy in this edit; it’s just powder, stoke and real people enjoying themselves in the outdoors.
This is an adventure film that blends the history of the upper Columbia River with a 140km paddle from the foot of the Mica Dam to the top of the Revelstoke Dam. Four intrepid snowboarders seek to retrace a portion of David Thompson's footsteps down the Columbia River, in the middle of January, during one of the coldest snaps in the recorded history in Revelstoke.
