Description:
The pace for progression runs starts at an easy or moderate level and progressively becomes faster. The key is to start at a comfortable pace and gradually pick up the speed over the duration of the run. The rate of progression can vary based on individual fitness levels and training goals.
Why should we add a progress run into our training?
The primary purpose of progression runs is to gradually increase the intensity or pace throughout the course of the run. This type of workout helps runners develop their ability to handle faster paces while teaching the body to run efficiently as fatigue sets in. Progression runs are a valuable tool for building mental toughness, improving pacing strategies, and enhancing overall endurance. It also helps increase oxygen uptake in a higher percentage of muscle fibres.
