Rejuvenate workout session with S&C Coach and ultra-endurance athlete George Howard.Â
The session is designed to be hard and build up that muscular endurance to get you up and over those mountains when trail running. Combine running with a series of mobility exercises. The workout will consist of a circuit with strength exercises to replicate going uphill. Followed by a short period run to replicate the downhill sections of a trail run. Â
*We can scale down or up the workout based on your ability.Â

About Arc'teryx Ambassador George Howard:Â
I am a S&C coach and ultra-endurance athlete that works around South West London. I developed my knowledge of training through studying Sport & Exercises science at the University of Leeds and over 10 years experience in personal training. During Covid-19 I wanted to expand this knowledge and I am currently half way through a Masters in Strength & Conditioning at St Mary’s University Twickenham. My clients have ranged from sedentary Londoners, celebrities, mountaineers and ultra marathon runners to prison convicts.
Â
While growing up I was very keen on playing sports, keeping fit and going on mini adventures (offen falling out of trees). The adventurous gene most likely came from my grandfather, a mountaineer doing many expeditions up Mt Kenya and also in the Himalayas.Â
Â
My ambition at a young age was to join the Army as an officer. However, due a near fatal hit with a taxi, leaving me having to learn how to read and write again (although according to my brother something I could never do) and having to reconsider my plans. As a result of this I decided to pursue what I loved best, keeping fit, healthy, active and testing myself to my limits.Â
Â
My first big endurance event was cycling from the UK to Istanbul straight after graduating but pre-taxi hit. My first ultra marathon was 8 months after being hit by the taxi. Where I decided to run 84 miles along Hadrian’s wall in under 24hrs for charity to show I had physically fully recovered. Since then I have successfully completed numerous challenges, most notably the UTMB Chamonix and Oman, 260km Wadi Rum Desert ultra, GB Ultra 200-mile run and the DW 125-mile kayaking race. This summer I am planning to run the notorious Tor des Geants, a 330km run, with a 24,000m altitude gain through the Valle d’Aosta Italy. Albeit subject to injury and Covid-19 restrictions. "
