INTRO TO OUTDOOR CLIMBING
If you've climbed indoors, or are totally new to top-rope climbing with a harness and belay, this is the course for you! Learn to get out on the rock in a friendly, non-intimidating atmosphere, we pace the day to match the level of each participant. The instructional topics for the day will include topics such as cliff safety, equipment use and care, basic knots, belay skills, climbing technique, and rappelling (if time permits).. (6 - 16 spots available)
Â
INTRO TO LEAD CLIMBING
Learning to lead on bolts is the logical progression from top-roping and opens the door to a lot of brilliant climbing destinations like Skaha, British Columbia and Smith Rocks, Oregon. A good background in sport climbing is also an excellent foundation to begin lead climbing cracks on traditional protection.Instructional topics for this course will cover topics such as: Hazard recognition and management at the crag, equipment selection, quickdraw use, lead belaying, stick clip use, and anchor threading and lowering. (6 spots available)
