Touted as "the world's toughest ski tour" the Red Bull Der Lange Weg is an 85,000m elevation, 1917km traverse of the European Alps from Vienna, Austria to Nice, France. First completed in 41 days in 1971, no one had attempted it since, until a team of 7 international athletes aimed to break the record in 2018.Â

We are stoked to host Mark & Janelle as they share the stories and photos from this adventure in unfamiliar terrain, terrible conditions, and with 7 strangers whom don't even speak the same language.
If you don't know of Mark & Janelle, well, you should, but here's a great chance to meet them! Both inspiring athletes in their own right, they make a formidable husband & wife team.
Mark is a climber, skier, and an American International Federation of Mountain Guides Association mountain guide, photographer and filmmaker. With entertaining methods, Mark, who grew up an Eagle Scout, uses all of his talents to promote mountain safety in contemporary ways. As a father, he intends to share his skills and love for the mountains with his daughter.
Janelle is an ultra-runner from the great heights of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. With instinctual endurance and speedy style, Janelle summits peaks so smoothly that some wonder if she was a mountain goat in a past life. Janelle holds the women's speed record for running the Teton Grand Traverse, as well as many first females ski descents and first female climbing ascents. Expect to keep seeing Janelle running around in the mountains just with a little girl in tow.
